Just when I thought my visit in Sabtang Island was already ruined by the gloomy & rainy weather, this first stop in Morong Beach was a surprise!
It set my mood for the entire Sabtang Island experience, as if it was not raining at all.
It’s a plus that I got with me the most accommodating, conversational and humble tour guide, Mr. Jhun Calma (0928-617-0726).
Amazing because later I learned from my tour guide for South Batan Tour that Kuya Jhun is actually the owner of M/B Sta. Ines, one of the boats which voyages to and fro Sabtang.
I experienced how down to earth Kuya Jhun was, how compassionate and respectful he was.
It was contagious!
I couldn’t help but reciprocate his kindness.
I mean, I am not bad, but at that moment I knew that the character he showed me was better than mine in so many levels.
It did hit me!
If these Ivatans can be this kind, how then should a man with Bachelor Degree, MS or Ph.D. treat a person?
More than the scenic places in Batanes, its greatest treasures are the Ivatans, the people living on its beautiful ground.
